Frameworks - developing your organisation's code of ethics (product sheet)
Our Consulting services are designed to facilitate the development or refinement of your organisation's documented ethical frameworks (eg. codes of ethics and conduct).
An initial ‘research phase’ is undertaken by a qualified consultant to examine existing frameworks and determine the ethical components that are currently incorporated within your organisation's written materials, such as vision and mission statements, annual report, marketing materials, compliance and risk management statements, website.
The data from the initial research is then incorporated into a ‘one day workshop’ designed to provide participants with a clear, up to date understanding and explanation of the rationale behind ethical frameworks.
A major outcome of the workshop is to prepare a comprehensive ‘process plan’ to guide the organisation in the development or refinement of your ethical frameworks
On completion of the workshop management is able to choose some or all of the participants to form an ongoing 'steering committee’ to develop and maintain agreed frameworks. Once formed, the 'steering committee’ members typically experience a much stronger sense of responsibility for and ownership of the ethical dimension of their work.

- the philosophy of codes
- Workshop participants learn a common language and are provided with key concepts to fully engage in the development or enhancement of your organisation's frameworks and structures
- From the initial research, an analysis is provided of your organisation's existing ethics statements grouped into major philosophical categories. This enables participants to make informed decisions regarding the process for development and content of your code
- Participants are also provided with an extensive and diverse range of example codes for discussion and assessment
- Awareness is gained of the pitfalls and preferred processes of code development
- A comprehensive ‘process plan’ is completed within the workshop to guide development or refinement of your organisations ethical frameworks

- Conduct research with stakeholders to determine their understanding of the ‘ethical code and culture’ existing within the organisation
- Supervise framework development through mentoring, guidance or facilitation
- Review developed frameworks and structures
- Assist in ‘rolling out’ developed frameworks and creating awareness programs
Program duration:
The research phase, the analysis of written ethical statements and workshop preparation is typically completed in two days. This is later followed by a one day workshop customised to your organisation's needs.
