Welcome to our upgraded website!

Those of you who have previously visited the St James Ethics Centre's website will have noticed that as of late-October 2009 we have overhauled the functionality of the website, including changing all of the page addresses.

This work has been planned since 2006 and we're pleased to see it finally completed.

Site functionality

The core of the site is now run using a content management system - Drupal, which is an open-source CMS.

The new functionality includes a new look Ethics Poll and Ethics Forum, commenting facilities on content such as our Ethics Articles and - finally - a search function.  There is also now an Ethics Blog and various areas have RSS feeds you can subscribe to. Plus there is a user account system which operates site-wide and will enable registered users to post to the forum, make comments and more.

In addition, much of the content is now vastly easier for us to create and manage, giving us more time to add and maintain content.

Site addresses

If you have bookmarks to pages on the website or have links from your website to here, please update them with the new page addresses, which have all now changed. Refer to our site map if you are lost.

Also, if you've found an incorrect link to this site from another, we'd be most grateful if you could let them know to update the link address.

Typos and broken links?

Before rolling out this interim site upgrade we've manually been through every single static page of the site to check and correct links, and implement any new design features or minor content changes. In a site of this size and with such major upgrade changes it's very easy to miss things or make minor errors.

We apologise if you encounter any errors and ask that you please contact us with the details, including the address of the page, so that we can make any corrections.

We rely upon our website users to assist us in maintaining such a large site with our very limited capacity and we're grateful to those who take the time to help us with this.
