Ethics Consulting

The consulting work of the Ethics Centre is oriented to the relief of suffering of individuals within an organisational context. As well as providing immediate relief to individuals, our work helps organisations avoid and manage situations, practices and cultures which give rise to ethical conflict and failure.

Advisory services

St James Ethics Centre provides ethical counsel for leaders who seek an independent and trusted voice in responding to a significant ethical issue.

Organisational character and culture analysis

Investigations of the alignment of stated values and principles of clients with actual organisational practice are undertaken. Reviews are conducted of organisation practices related to remuneration and incentive structures, training and development programs, handling of breaches and misconduct and the organisation's internal and external communications. Our methodology includes focus groups, surveys and interviews. Decision making strengths and weaknesses are diagnosed and the management of internal and external influences and pressures on decision making reviewed.

Ethics frameworks, structures and systems (eg. codes of ethics and conduct)

St James Ethics Centre assists clients to develop ethics frameworks including reviewing purpose, vision and mission statements, values and principles and codes of conduct. The Ethics Centre also advises on ethics governance systems and structures including ethics committees, decision support lines and induction and training.
