Hi all

I'm so sorry about the horrendous amount of spam you've been subjected to recently. Unfortunately there is just one moderator for the site at the moment (myself!) and this is such an incredibly busy time of year that I'm missing days at a time. In addition the new forum application doesn't directly email spam reports, which slows things down.

I've been in discussions with the Centre since the new forum went live about having some regular users as spam moderators, but I still don't have an answer, so unfortunately the situation remains the same. I hope to have an answer in the next day or so.

So in the interim I'm going to put all new forum members into moderation. This means that if you're a new member you will need to wait for me to approve any posts you make. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I hope that it will be a temporary situation.

Thanks for your patience!

Haven't seen any Spam yet but did notice my first reply had to be approved :)

I am an oldie who was lured back by the email about a new forum.

Hello to any who may remember me :D

So, how many posts do I make before I am a trusted member?

It'll be great to be spam free; I try not to hate anyone (that is, really hate) but spammers are getting to me. :x

A useful interim solution. Well done.
