I started my job about 5 months ago. It has been good, but working here has shown me that I might be on the wrong path. A week ago, a new opportunity landed on my lap and I've decided to take it.
Meanwhile, at my current job, I started a new initiative that was very successful in its first go-around, but due to start up costs, did not actually net profits. My boss, however, pleased with the measurable success , gave me a bonus for the success. The bonus was equal to about 1 weeks wages for me.
My dilemma: should I keep the bonus, even though it was given in good faith that I would continue with this new and hopefully profitable initiative? Or should I give it back to my boss because I am leaving the company?
Thanks for your thoughts!
