So Israel is building another 1300 homes on Palestinian land. No wonder the Palestinians get so pissed off. When will they recognise Palestinian sovereignty, just like Israel's sovereignty is recognised?

Israel gets away with terrible behaviour because its supporters are very quick to beat any critics into submission with the anti semitism stick.
Really Israel is just as bad as South Africa was under the apartheid regime, but the effect is worse because its influence is much more pervasive.
It is said that more Jews live in the US than Israel, which might explain its huge aid donation to Israel and also its attitude to the middle east in general. Non jewish lives are just so expendable. I believe the fear mongering about Iran is to pacify Israel too. Iran has never started a war.

Wow, the Palestinians have recognized Israel's right to exist? And Syria, too? And, Iran? Why don't I see something in the news about this? Peace is at hand.

I am only seventy but I don't recall Israel starting a war. As for Iran, they recently had a long and tragic war with Iraq. I suspect Iraq and Iran might disagree as to who started the war.

And, if anyone's lives have been expendable in my lifetime it has been the jews.

My mother brought me up to be very pro Israel too, but I've observed events in my own lifetime regarding the expansion of Israel, which have soured my impression of the Jewish people quite a lot.
Look at the maps below, look how much land has been grabbed. Israel has gobbled up land and spat out the Palestinian people like so much gristle.

Well, I guess you can't get any more definitive than Wikipedia but I suspect if you ask the Iraqis you might get a different prespective.

Oh, come on, guys. Lets try to keep the discussion within the bounds of reality. Iraq under Saddam Hussein started the Iraq-Iran war in 1980 by mounting an invasion of Iran. Disputing this is on a par with disputing the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941.

If you know of an Iraqi source which offers a "different perspective", Patrick, now would be a really good time to tell us about that source.
