Customers have delivered a quarter of a million signatures to Apple stores around the world in the last week calling for an 'ethical' iphone through improved working conditions at overseas manufacturing plants.

‘Ethical iPhone protests hit Apple stores’, Roger Cheng, ZDNet,10 February 2012 http://www.zdnet.com.au/ethical-iphone- ... 331451.htm

Do you agree that multinational companies have an ethical responsibility to maintain a minimum standard of worker protection across all work sites. Or should protection be guided by the laws and regulations of the particular country it operates in? Should these companies be held to a higher standard than their local counterparts, and undertake additional processes (such as workplace audits) that may not be common in that country's business environment?
