Finally I am able to tell you that the forum now has some moderators in place with the Ethics Centre's approval. These moderators are users of the forum so should be able to jump on approvals and the like faster than I am currently able to do. I will also be keeping an eye on things regularly as well, of course.

I wanted to let forum users know that these moderators have been put in place purely to deal with issues re spam and very clearly offensive posts (eg. porn images and the like).

They are not intended to moderate when it comes to disputes between members, however, can opt to lock threads if the discussion gets seriously out of hand prior to contacting me about the situation. I will continue to oversee that sort of moderation in liaison with others at the Centre.

So thanks to our new moderators. We may be adding more in due course.

For now new users remain in moderation - posts will need to be approved before they appear on the forum, but hopefully this will now happen faster. I have lowered the number of approved posts required which should make it less of a pain for our newbies.
