Ugly things have been said about 27-year-old Kristy Fraser-Kirk since she was awarded about $850,000 instead of the $37 million she had been seeking in a sexual harassment claim against David Jones and its former chief executive Mark McInnes.
Those on social media were particularly cruel.
One tweeter called her a "money hungry bimbo" while countless others said she was greedy because none of the money was going to charity.

Several Twitter users also accused her of harming the women's rights cause.
Meanwhile, there seemed to be very little criticism of the man allegedly responsible for the sexual harassment.
But as far as Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick is concerned, Ms Fraser-Kirk was courageous for making her claim.
