Does the world need nuclear energy?

'We’ve seen the energy future and it’s nuclear' is the topic for the next St James Ethics Centre IQ2 Sydney Debate on 26 June. Nuclear power is more efficient and has less impact on global warming than coal power. The debate on whether or not nuclear power should be used is often conflated with nuclear weapons, lack of technical knowledge in the general population, and balancing the potential impact of global warming against the potential impact of a nuclear accident.
